TPB 69 HK Monaro Street Stocker

Postby Sprintcar80 » Mon May 05, 2008 5:44 pm

Here is a small project I did with a seconds TPB HK Monaro. The body lines had ripples which had that "raced" look so I mated it to an AMT Ford Falcon Dirt Stocker. I opened the wheel arches for the big dirt tyres and just generally thinned out the panel thickness where you would see it. The chassis fit in perfect so overall, it was a pretty easy task to build it, but not for a beginner. I used a Tamiya dirt pren for the mud and smeared it across the car.

The AMT logo? "Ertl's Garage" signage? Sacrilege!

Oh wait, i can see 'The Parts Box.com' above the door. You're saved my son. I like this one. Nice and dirty, you've captured the look just right. :D

At least you didn't have to struggle with making windows on this style of build.

Nice work :D captured the look perfectly! Should have put abit more dirt along the arches as dirt flicks back behind when driving....just an idea.

Cheers Guys, I sort of went for the speedway car JUST because I didn't have to put windows in haz, I have that phobia. That's why my Jaymar Walkinshaw won't be worked on anytime soon. lol. I still have that Diarama of the speedway track I had at SAPMA so I might ressurect that and put the monaro on there-maybe. After flicking the mud up the arches more!! he he

I also have photobucket under sprintcar80 if anyone wants to see more cars, most of the pics were put on the Scale Auto website, but if I take my PC to a friends, I will add those cars to This site.
