Goon Car (Batman 1989)

While we thank AMT for re-releasing the Dodge four door as the 'Goon Car' from batman, they don't actually use any 4 door Dodges like it in the movie. one is a Dodge dart (GT 3700) the other is a Chevy Malibu.

i happened to have this kit left over after stealing it's engine for another project, so i decided it would fill the role of the malibu. It's an AMT chevy citation, a similar two door, v6 cylinder engined slug box. I took a few goes to get the paint right as the first green layer went very wrong. after a change of paint brand and throwing on some nice purple (green and purple are the joker's gang colors), i assembled the kit per instructions but since the engine is gone, the bay is empty (for now). i added a number plate frame for the front plate. it wouldn't fit on the rear one, which i had to narrow to fit in the recess.

I had one of these kits years ago.
IIRC it ws one of AMTs better kits. Just done of a really odd subject choice.

Nice Goon Car. What did you use the FWD 4 banger in?

the engine was actually a v6, and it's going in my firebird project. i'm doing a replica of the pontiac firebird 88 that i used to own, it had a v6, so im not using the v8 and putting this one in.

Looking at imcdb, there was actually a Citation in the movie, just not one of the gang cars.

when i posted this on Scale auto forum i used the title "Citation for Gang Activity", which i thought was kinda clever. (double entundra)

Yes. V6. Of course it was. I remember now young grasshopper.
I think as a kid I decided V6s were for girls and glued in a V8 (onto the original FWD transaxle of course).

I bet the SA crowd were shocked to see one of these pop up...

i found an old dodge 4 cylinder engine out of a 84 daytona that i stuck in this car (better than nothing, which was what was in there.)
