Replica of my 1:1 Toyota Celica GT-four(using 3 kits)

Postby dafoles » Mon May 16, 2011 9:24 pm

I will be doing a replica of my 1:1 toyota celica gt-four. I have had her for a few years now and have just recenly spent a bot of cash on her. She was originally a air to air intercooled 3sgte. Now she has the motor from the Gen 3 gt-four along with the brakes and also oz rally wheels.

I have to use 3 kits to do the replica. My 1:1 is a skinny body that I had added the group A bonnet and bar to. So I will be using hte body from the celica GTR along with the interior tub. I will be using the the motor from the gen 3 gt four along with the brakes and I will be using the bonnet and front bar and wheels from the rally Gen 2 gtfour.

This will be my first time at cutting up kits/ kit bashing. So it should be interesting.

See pics.

Tips on cutting out bonnets etc? Just slow and steady with number 11 blade?

ok, you feeling brave now? it's a pretty scarey first step to cut up a model. now comes the hard part, putting it all back together.
Reality is a nice place, but i wouldn't want to live there.

Not sure I'd dremel it, in case you go to wide but the back of the blade is probably cleanest. unless you can use the thread technique... which hasn't been tutorialled yet :)
